Sun-Pinned Leaves are back with a new single called “Life’s So Good” and it pretty much does what the title promises. It’s bright, warm and easy to get into from the first few seconds.
The duo lean fully into their Americana sound here and it works. The guitars feel full without being too heavy, the drums keep everything moving, and there’s this subtle folk touch that gives the track a bit more character. Nothing is overdone which honestly makes it more enjoyable.
The melody is catchy and simple. The vocals are smooth and natural, not trying too hard, and the chorus lands in that simple but effective way where you kind of remember it after one listen. It’s the kind of hook that sneaks up on you later.
There’s also a great energy running through the track. It’s not forced or overly polished. You can tell these two have been doing this for a long time, just from how everything fits together so easily. The chemistry is there and it shows in small moments, like how the vocals sit perfectly with the instrumentation.
The production is smart and balanced. Nothing distracts, nothing feels out of place. It just sounds right. We ended up liking this one quite a bit. It’s upbeat without being cheesy, and it carries a relaxed confidence that makes it easy to replay. Definitely one of those tracks you throw on when you want something light but still well-crafted.
ABOUT THE BAND:
Christopher Brown and Neil Faulkner first wrote songs together at school in 1975 continuing writing and performing till the mid-80s.
Having reunited Neil and Chris formed ‘Sun-Pinned Leaves’ in 2018. After 4 well received releases, fifth album ‘Altered States (2022) was a UK Country Radio album of the week with single ‘Brilliant Jewel’ awarded ‘Best Music Collaboration’ by the World Songwriting Awards. SPL won Best International Vocal Duo, at the 5th annual ISSA Awards held in Atlanta August 2023.
Sixth album ‘Tales From The Great Lakes’ spawned singles ‘City’s Got Soul’ which made No 1 in the Euro Indie Network Top 100 and ‘Lakes and Sky’ which made No 1 in the World indie network Chart. The album was also nominated for The JOSIE Music Awards Best Folk/Americana Album of 2024. SPL released 7th album ‘Seven Sins Aren’t Enough’ in July 2024 which includes JOSIE Award nominated ‘You and Me’ and was another UK Country Radio Album of the Week. They performed a track from the album on their return to Atlanta in 2024 as judges and award presenters. 8th album ‘No One Gets Out Alive’ was their third UK Country Album of the week and SPL were nominated for ‘Americana Duo of the Year’ at The Josie Music Awards, Grand Ole Opry Nashville Nov 2025.
A brand new single ‘Life’s So Good’ is released 10th February. This is the first of 4 stand-alone singles plus ninth album ‘Lost in America’ to be released in 2026.
