RAINBOW BELTZ just released their new single “Call You Back”, and it goes in a softer direction than what they’ve been building so far. This one is stripped down. Acoustic, light, not trying to do too much. The first thing that sticks is how warm it sounds. The guitar is gentle, the bass sits low and steady and nothing jumps out in a loud way but everything connects. It’s simple, but not empty.
The melodies carry most of it. They’re easy to hold onto, kind of lingering after the song ends. There’s something a bit fragile in how they’re put together especially with the vocals. The voice is warm and captivating. It just stays in that calm space.
The lyrics fit right into that mood. They move perfectly with the melody which helps the whole song stay smooth. You don’t really get pulled out of it at any point. It’s also interesting hearing them like this. Their usual sound has more edge, more structure. Here, they step back. Not a big statement, just a different side.
We like this direction. It’s easy to come back to without thinking too much about it. We’ll definitely keep an eye on what they do next.
