Frederick Robin – The Ephemeral Present

We just discovered this wonderfully contemplative, instrumental piece “The Ephemeral Present”, by talented artist Frederick Robin. The track is designed to stir up your feelings alongside its rousing video accompaniment. It’s a unique experience from start to finish and one of the best records we’ve heard in months. It deserves more attention. Seriously!

This track will take you on a beautiful journey and will leave you stuck on constant repeat for days, it’s something to soothe your nerves, calm your heart, and slow your racing mind. The melody of thus instrumental is beautifully catchy and the production is smart, simple and brought this record to a whole new level. Frederick Robin is an experienced artist and has so much talent when it comes to making music. His music is original, different and deserves to be heard by all people around the world.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Frederick Robin is known for his conceptual and abstract approach to the process of creating and thinking about music and olfactory art. His creative style is characterised by balanced and intentional forms while existing in the contemporary-classical realm. Robin’s work is often focussed on creating intriguing structures and inventive concepts that combine olfactory and musical art forms in a framework that sparks multifaceted dialogue about contemporary art and philosophy.

In 2016, he founded olfactory lifestyle studio, Studio FSR, which now serves international clients, over 40 boutiques across the United States, and private clients. He currently serves as Creative Director and works closely with Chief Artisan Tina Taylor and the other Production Staff to develop new projects, scents, packaging, and to pursue collaborative creative opportunities.

Robin won and was a finalist in several national and local music composition competitions, including the MTNA (Music Teachers’ National Association), Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and MMTA (Minnesota Music Teachers’ Association).

His work has been performed and smelled across the United States and Europe. He most recently premiered a multimedia piece titled “Rondo in A Major” in Rome, Italy.

He served as the 2021 Composition Fellow at Lutheran Summer Music Festival and Academy at Valparaiso University, where he taught classes, private lessons, and worked closely with peers and faculty from across the United States. He was also Director of Music at Sacred Heart Church in Frazee, MN from 2018-2021, where he coordinated liturgical music, performed organ repertoire, and conducted the Sacred Heart choir and brass ensembles.

Robin is an active member of various art societies, including: Culture Action Europe, Society for Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, ASCAP, Society of Composers Inc., and The College Music Society.

From 2020 to present, he studies Music Composition and Philosophy at Concordia College, Moorhead, where he sings in the Concordia Chapel Choir and plays in the Concordia Handbell Choir. His primary teachers include: Dan Breedon, Grigor Khachatryan, Tess Varner, Doug Harbin, Kevin Sütterlin, and Steve Makela. In the future, he plans to attend graduate school in the United States or in Europe, after which he aspires to teach and collaborate with artists worldwide to influence the world in a relevant and critical way through art.
