Emma Lindquist just dropped her debut album “Hello tiger, be my friend”, and it feels very thought-through from start to finish. No rush here. The songs take their time and that actually works in her favor.
The sound sits somewhere between soft alternative pop and folk, with a bit of Americana warmth. It’s not loud or flashy, but it pulls you in slowly. The production is careful, like every sound was placed on purpose. You can hear that in the intros especially, they build a mood before anything really happens.
Her voice is the main character in this record. It’s calm but emotional and it fits perfectly with the lyrics. The melodies are simple but stay in your head, and we kept going back to a few tracks just for that reason.
The lyrics are honest and beautifully written. The album leans into love, doubt, and figuring yourself out. There’s this idea of facing your own “tiger” meaning the parts of yourself you usually avoid. It sounds heavy, but the way she writes it feels real, not overdramatic.
Some songs stretch a bit long, but even then the atmosphere keeps things interesting. It’s the kind of album you sit with, not just play in the background. We think this is a strong and honest debut. It doesn’t try to be everything, and that’s why it works. It’s personal, a bit quiet, but very well made.
