Eckotrigger are back with a new single titled “Imposter”, and we are very happy to have another reason to write about this London duo. Their new single brings electronic music and rock together in a way that catches our attention from the first few seconds. The production and mixing are solid and the energy is great.
We really like the atmosphere of this track. There is a darker edge running through the music with great electronic details and melodies that keep pulling us back in. The rock sound gives it some weight and the beats help it move along. Joel Alexander’s vocals are captivating and sit well with the music. The sound design is impressive and sounds polished. We really liked how the atmosphere stays with you after the track ends.
There is more going on in this track than just a good mix of sounds. The song looks at the past and the difficulty of leaving old memories and emotions behind. Sometimes you decide to move forward, but things you thought were behind you can still come back. That idea suits the darker music and the message about change gives the track something to hold on to. It does not need to explain every detail to get the point across.
Eckotrigger have been building their sound through singles and other releases, and this is another good reason to keep an eye on them. We were already looking forward to hearing what they would do next, and “Imposter” has made us even more interested. The duo sound committed to what they are making, with care in the production and real attention to the mood of the song. This is a track we were glad to spend time with, and we would recommend giving it a proper listen rather than letting it pass by in the background. Enjoy!
