Q: Welcome back, Céline Marie! It’s fantastic to have you with us again. Since our last conversation, a lot has happened in your musical journey. To kick things off, could you share some highlights or pivotal moments that have shaped your artistic path since our last interview?
A: Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to have another conversation with you and it’s a pleasure for me to tell you about all the things that happened since our last one ! After the release of my debut album “Basics” on January 3, 2025, followed a single release after another. One of them, “Essentials”, was released on April 4, 2025 and the other one, “Showtime”, on June 6, 2025. “Showtime” is also the lead single of my upcoming EP “Showtime”. Beside working on the EP, I released a new mixtape called “Summer Mix 2025” and prepared more DJ content / DJ mixes in 3 different genres (House Music, Techno & Dubstep). Now I put my focus on finishing the EP and working on more mixes as well.
Q: Can you describe the musical style of Céline Marie in three words?
A: Experimental, surprising & recognizable
Q: How do you stay connected with your fans, and what role do they play in shaping your musical journey?
A: I’m constantly working on my social media presence (including a broadcast channel on Instagram) and in June I’ve also set up a mailing list on my website to offer my community another way to stay connected in any cases and circumstances, beside social media. They receive a monthly newsletter with reviews/highlights of the month, upcoming events and many more insights. My community plays an important role on my journey and without them, it wouldn’t be the same. Their continued love and support keeps me motivated to create and share more music.
Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Showtime’. Is there a story behind it?
A: In May 2025, I officially opened the “Showtime Era” with my new single release “Showtime” (release on June 6, 2025). It’s an EDM / Techno track, a fusion of the sub-genres Peak Time, Industrial and Minimal Techno, and the lead single of my upcoming EP “Showtime”. Towards the end of 2024, I already worked on the demos for my EP, which should not only open a new musical era, but also a personal one and a proof to those who doubted me. For me, “Showtime” is more than just an EP – It’s a statement.
Q: What is your favorite part of the track and why?
A: My favorite part of “Showtime” begins at 01:08, because of its unexpected drop with the pitched vocal chop saying “Let the show begin”, which feels like the song stops for a moment, followed by a hypnotic synth, another vocal chop saying “It’s showtime” and finally, the synth meets the heavy kicks.
Q: Can you walk us through the creative process of producing the song, “Showtime”?
A: The creative process began towards the end of 2024, when I already worked on the demos for my upcoming EP “Showtime”. After months and years of working on my debut album “Basics”, which is an experimental EDM / Pop album, I felt the need to dive more into specific EDM genres (like Techno in this case) and to focus more on instrumentals. It took months of crafting, recording and editing sounds, mixing and mastering. It was a new challenging for me, but I had so much fun and it was definitely worth it.
Q: What has been the most memorable concert or performance for you so far?
A: My most memorable performance was when I published my most recent series of DJ mixes on social media. For the first time, I felt really comfortable performing infront of the camera and ready to perfom infront of others. So, I’m working on more and looking forward to future booking opportunities.
Q: Reflecting on your body of work, each song holding its unique significance, could you share a particular track that stands out to you personally? What makes that specific tune special, and why does it hold a place of pride in your musical journey?
A: „Free“, the lead single / first single release of the album, is and will always be very close to my heart. It was my first song with vocals and as an introverted person who never dared to sing in front of others, it challenged me a lot to release it. I already released 3 songs before „Free“ but they were instrumental pieces. Not only that it was a challenge for me to share my voice with the world for the first time but also the thought of sharing all these emotions and the story behind „Free“ (which is based on own experiences) got me so nervous that I was thinking about to cancel this release. The lyrics of „Free“ describes exactly what I was going through at this moment but my passion for being a singer was stronger than the fear and so I released it anyway which marks a special moment on my journey.
Q: Exploring the diverse creative processes within the music industry is always fascinating. Could you provide insight into Céline Marie’s unique approach to crafting music? From the initial spark of an idea to the finished song, how do you navigate the creative journey and bring its musical concepts to life?
A: First of all, it starts with the idea, a vision for a song, finding a relatable topic and a meaningful title. As I already mentioned, music is still a creative field that lives from inspiration and can’t be forced under pressure. Usually, ideas come random and I have periods of inspiration. It’s important to hold on and write every idea down – Whether it’s a title, a few lines of lyrics or melodies. After collecting ideas and material, I just start without thinking too much. There is no specific order or right and wrong. Sometimes I craft beats first and add vocals later and sometimes I write lyrics / record vocals first and build the beats around it. Then it comes to the glitter on the top – The mixing and mastering process.
Q: As we wrap up our conversation, looking ahead, what aspirations or dreams do you have for Céline Marie, and what message would you like to share with your fans as they continue to accompany you on this musical journey?
A: My goals are to keep working on my skills as a producer and DJ, looking for venues to perform and finishing my upcoming EP “Showtime”.
