Hailing from all across the globe but born in Denmark, culturally enriched Jakob The Liar, aka Jakob Kupferberg, is a multifaceted singer songwriter and musician currently taking the alt pop scene to a whole new level. He embarked on this creative journey at a young age, strumming on a battered acoustic guitar, using music as a coping mechanism while constantly moving between countries and changing schools. His modest dreams of becoming a rock star took a profound turn when a severe mental health crisis, triggered by an adverse reaction to skincare medication, forced him to reevaluate his life and the music he was destined to create. As his mental health gradually improved – guided by a voice urging him to tell his story, Jakob’s music started taking shape. Emerging from a decade of darkness, battling demons and surviving near-death experiences, Jakob was finally ready to face the world again. He released two EPs under his civil name, Jakob Kupferberg, titled ‘Crystallised in Moonshine‘ and ‘Sweet Surrender,’ receiving praise in the independent press. During his search for a unique stage name, Jakob stumbled upon a Holocaust memorial website and discovered a man with the same name, Jakob Kupferberg, who had perished in the Terezin concentration camp during WWII.
