Interview With Shadows of a Silhouette

Q: Welcome back, Shadows of a Silhouette! It’s fantastic to have you with us again. Since our last conversation, a lot has happened in your musical journey. To kick things off, could you share some highlights or pivotal moments that have shaped your artistic path since our last interview?

A: There’s quite a few highlights. We have released 8 new songs this last 12 months taking our total up to 33 on music platforms. We had our first main stage slot at a major music festival . We have played to sold out audiences throughout the midlands and the north. We have worked with countless promoters supporting other acts and then putting on our own shows on with our online audience doubling yet again this year.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Shadows of a Silhouette”?

A: If you find us for the first time you are guaranteed to come back for more. Wherever we go and whoever we meet we are self promoting and people listen and hear our music for the first time and they are gripped. We intend to release a new album in the New Year and build on the base we already have with more live events.

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: David Bowie. It’s that feeling you get when you connect with people through your music. It’s what rock and roll music is all about.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Abuse Me.”?

A: “Abuse Me is an appendage of the darker direction our music has taken in the last few releases. It emanates from our yearning to constantly push and develop our own sound into new territories, whilst also maintaining a sense of familiarity in terms of the band’s style and attitude.”

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: The band’s sound is inspired by our need to connect with others – often leading to the raw and unflinching sound full of energy.

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Abuse Me”?

A: This is what we do. It’s in our blood.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: Music gives meaning too everyone’s lives and through our songs we want people to appreciate how it can heal and take you to a better place.

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: White Stripes / Jack White or David Bowie and John Lennon.

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Focus on your music. The rest will follow

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: Do it the way you intended to do it all along and never be deterred.
