Q: Welcome back, Mr.Reaper! It’s fantastic to have you with us again. Since our last conversation, a lot has happened in your musical journey. To kick things off, could you share some highlights or pivotal moments that have shaped your artistic path since our last interview?

A: Thanks for having me here for this interview. I have been blessed with opportunities in my musical journey with my latest collaboration with Wiz Khalifa in the single titled, “Options”. I have been featured on ToneFlame September 2023 Magazine cover. In November 2023, “Options” ranked #66 on Itunes Top 100 Charts in UK and also reached the No. 1 spot on BMS Radio Charts for three weeks under Bomb Trap Music from January 14, 2024 – February 3, 2024. I am appreciative of all opportunities and look forward to gaining momentum with every release.

Q: Can you describe the musical style of Mr.Reaper in three words?

A: Creative, articulate, commanding.

Q: How do you stay connected with your fans, and what role do they play in shaping your musical journey?

A: I love to get input and check up on my fans on each release via Instagram and WhatsApp. I love to establish a personal connection with them and seek to know how they are doing in life. The conversation I have with them keeps me focused and provide a clear mind on what I am looking to provide on future releases.

Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Emotions’. Is there a story behind it?

A: Yes. Emotions delves in to me fully experiencing an awakening of self mastery. Balancing emotions is critical on finessing the struggles and challenges we overcome in life. There are times were we explode with rage on certain situations that may not be beneficial but sometimes it is necessary to let others know how to correctly approach us and what type of behavior we deem unacceptable. As an avid storyteller and songwriter I want my message of this song to be perceived in a positive light but also that our emotions need to be balanced in order to navigate the ups and downs we experience in life itself.

Q: What is your favorite verse from the track and why?

A: My second verse resonates the most with me. Rhymes such as, “I feel rich but I’m still broke” is a common concept that I feel the audience experiences at times in life. But my favorite rhyme in this second verse is at the end. “It’s so cold and they call it life, it doesn’t matter if its wrong or right.” “What matters is, is how you do.” “How can you improve just to be the best.” I feel these lines create a message that encapsulates what life is about. There always is a constant amount of growth that we have to face to become the best version of ourselves. In this way, we can do amazing things.

Q: Can you walk us through the creative process of producing the single, “Emotions”?

A: When I first listened to this beat. I fell in love with it. Before it’s creation, I had asked producer Tony Tone if he could make a guitar style beat that has a cross genre-ish feel. I knew when he created this one that it was something special. I wanted to send a message to inspire others and make a song that has a cover song appeal. I thought that it would create new fans and would do well in live performances considering the location I am in is not dominant in the Hip-Hop genre. Bands are often booked before solo artists due to venue genre preferences. With this song it has some hip-hop and pop vibes as well. It’s the total package.

Q: What has been the most memorable concert or performance for Mr.Reaper so far?

A: I’m seeking to do live performances in the near future as I now have a complete catalog.

Q: Reflecting on your body of work, each song holding its unique significance, could you share a particular track that stands out to you personally? What makes that specific tune special, and why does it hold a place of pride in your musical journey?

A: I think that this newest release, “Emotions” and “Ballad Of The Reaper” stand out the most. Both tracks have a certain message to present. “Emotions” talks about life and overcoming challenging times by balancing one’s behavior and the continuous growth towards self improvement. While, “Ballad Of The Reaper” encompasses my come up in my musical journey on staying true to my path and not losing myself on how far I come and where I am headed. Money, fame and recognition can change anyone’s perception and behavior but greed itself can take over when a person will do anything. And above all I want to and intend to be true to myself because “I know my worth.”

Q: Exploring the diverse creative processes within the music industry is always fascinating. Could you provide insight into Mr.Reaper’s unique approach to crafting music? From the initial spark of an idea to the finished song, how do you navigate the creative journey and bring its musical concepts to life?

A: My main focus with my music is to stand out with creativity, versatility and authenticity. I want the listener or listeners to feel where I’m coming from as I know they may have experienced similar situations , circumstances and challenges. I break down the beat on what I feel it is telling me. I then try to get creative on what I want the piece to be about and adapt to what I am given. I want to be one with the beat where there is a connection to my vocals and what the beat is saying when anyone listens to my music.

Q: As we wrap up our conversation, looking ahead, what aspirations or dreams do you have for Mr.Reaper, and what message would you like to share with your fans as they continue to accompany you on this musical journey?

A: My goal is to always to continue growing my audience through the daily situations we go through in order to forge that connection with a listener. I aim to inspire others with music and personality. We all continue grow as individuals and that’s no different with my music. I want to impact anyone listening where it may help them, it may motivate as well as inspire them to do incredible things. But above all I aim to make music that will last forever. Music that can be played through any type of feeling a person is going through is what I intend to accomplish. I want people to know that Mr.Reaper is a jack of all trades in rapping. He will make you think with his bars that will leave an everlasting impression.
