Interview With Eckotrigger

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

A: My parents always listened to music at home, on journeys in the car everything from Bowie, to The Stones, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Nick Cave PJ Harvey to loads more. As a whole family we’ve always been very into our music. Then I got into my own music bands/styles I liked while still liking those artists and started writing

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Eckotrigger”?

A: We work at sharing our music through social media the most I think as one of the positives of social media is you can get straight to the people. I’d say if you like electro, alternative rock we may be for you. We also like to put on an energetic and engaging live show

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: Right now, I can’t name just one but Nick Cave is very much up there. Inspiration came from jamming with musical friends and getting into numerous bands but being a frontman appealed to me from being inspired by the likes of Bowie, Jim Morrison, Micheal Hutchence, Trent Reznor. Musically I got inspired from listening rock, metal, indie, electro, jungle, techno

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Pleasure and Pain.”?

A: it’s a song about the feelings of feeling glimpses of highs along with the lows, getting burnt. And we keep coming back to the intoxication of it all. Pleasure and pain we all know too well

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Electronic with rock elements, stylish, sophisticated, dark, emotive

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Pleasure and Pain”?

A: writing is always a challenge but an enjoyable one

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: The message is one of realism, the feelings and thoughts we have as humans and you are never alone. Hope in/with darkness

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: Nick Cave, David Bowie, Massive Attack, support Depeche Mode

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Never ever give up, you will need to develop a thick skin as people will not always be encouraging or kind and that’s ok. Never take things too personally, keep going!

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: oh I could write pages and pages on this! I’d say to relax more, take your time with things more, don’t get frustrated or down when things don’t right. But still the younger me still wouldn’t listen!
