DJ Medication is back with a new single called “Better off Alone”. It’s a track that looks at what happens after a relationship comes to an end. The idea is familiar, but the track doesn’t get stuck in sadness. Instead, it turns that moment into something you can move on from, with a sound that is bright enough to keep the song moving.
The first thing that caught our attention is the production. DJ Medication has put real care into the sound here, and the mix gives each part room without losing the energy. The beats are tight, the details are well placed, and the whole track is polished without sounding cold. A lot is going on here.
The female vocals are a strong part of the song too. They sit in the production nicely and bring a lighter touch to the subject. The lyrics follow the idea of choosing to move forward alone after love has not worked out. It is not a new story, of course, but the catchy tune gives it a fresh lift and stops it from becoming too heavy.
We’ve enjoyed DJ Medication’s work and this single is a good reason to keep an eye on what he does next. You can hear the passion in the detail, from the vocal choice to the beats and the clean mix. “Better off Alone” gets the balance right between a bittersweet subject and a sound that’s easy to return to. The sound design and the quality of production make the whole thing worth another listen. Enjoy 🙂
