Daphne Parker Powell is back with a new single called “In the Soup Till the Pot Rots” and we really love this one. It’s like one of those songs that just plays easy without trying too hard, but still sticks in your head after.
Her voice is the first thing that hits. It’s soft, warm, and honestly just nice to listen to. Her voice flows naturally and that makes the whole song feel calm but still interesting. The melodies are catchy too, simple in a good way, the kind you find yourself humming later without even noticing.
The production here is really strong. You can tell there’s care in how everything sounds. The mix is clean, the instruments sit well together, and there’s this rich and full sound that gives the track more depth. We really like the variety in her instrumentation which fits the mood perfectly.
The lyrics and melodies work together really well, almost like they were made at the same time. We really enjoyed this one. It’s smooth, well-made and easy to come back to. Daphne shows again that she knows how to build a song that is both simple and meaningful at the same time, and we’re definitely into that.
