DANAMA is back with her new single “Best Friends” and it’s one of those songs that feels personal straight away. It comes from a real place, you can hear that in the voice and in how the whole track builds. The idea behind the song is actually interesting. It’s about learning to understand your own emotions and kind of becoming best friends with them instead of fighting them. That alone makes it stand out a bit, especially with how honest the lyrics feel. It doesn’t sound forced or overwritten, just real thoughts put into music.
Her voice is probably the strongest part here. We really enjoyed how natural and emotional her delivery is, like she’s not holding anything back but also not overdoing it. It sits perfectly on top of the instrumental, which is also very well put together. The mix of indie rock and electronic touches works nicely, and the live drums give it that extra push that keeps the energy up. There’s a strong anthem feeling in this track too, especially in the chorus. It sticks in your head after a couple of listens, not in an annoying way, more like something you actually want to go back to. The sound design is clean but still has character, which is not always easy to get right.
We also like that this came from a personal turning point in her life. You can feel that shift in the music, like it’s part of something bigger than just a single release. We really enjoyed this one. DANAMA has a strong style already and this track shows a lot of promise. We’re definitely curious to hear what she does next because if this is the direction, it’s a very good one.
