Crawdad Crash – Girls Love Rock & Roll

Crawdad Crash is back on our blog after a bit of a gap, and yeah, it’s been around two years since we talked about him here. If you remember “Reign Of The Crawdad”, that one was already a wild ride, raw and full of energy. Now he comes in again with “Girls Love Rock & Roll”, and honestly… this thing is big. Like really big. 20 tracks. Feels like a full journey, not just an album you throw on once.

Right from the start, “The First Time” kicks things open with proper rock energy. It doesn’t waste time, just jumps in with loud guitars and that kind of loose, alive feeling that this artist does well. The vocals here are raw which fits the whole vibe.

Then “I Woke Up in Love This Morning” comes in, and this one stands out. It’s actually a cover, but he makes it his own. Faster, louder, a bit messy in a good way. The instrumentation is rich. It’s one of those tracks you just enjoy without thinking too much.

The title track “Girls Love Rock & Roll” keeps that same energy going. Strong drums, sharp guitars, and a vocal tone that just sits right in the mix. It’s simple but effective, and that’s kind of the whole point of this album. It doesn’t try to be different, it just wants to rock.

And honestly, talking about every track here would take forever. There’s a lot going on. You’ve got originals, covers, even some instrumentals like “Spiderweb Surf Walk” that bring a different mood. Some tracks are rough, some more polished, but that mix actually works. It keeps things interesting.

The production is solid. Not too clean, which is good. That raw sound is still there, and it lets the guitars, bass, and drums breathe. The mixing is more balanced than before too. You can tell he spent more time getting things right this time, but without losing that garage feel.

We liked the atmosphere of this album. It’s honest. Songs about girls, love, random stuff like food or weird images, it all blends into this fun and slightly chaotic rock world. Also worth saying, this is a one-man band project, which makes it even more impressive. There’s a lot of sound packed into this album and it never really sounds empty.

At the end of the day, this album just hits. It’s fun, loud, a bit rough around the edges, and full of personality. We honestly think this might be his best release so far, and we’re definitely ready to hear more from him after this. For now, this is one of those albums we just keep coming back to.
