Craic Killers come back with their new single “Gimmie”. No long intro needed, the track just goes in with purpose, and yeah, it hits straight away. This is a political punk track, loud in message but also tight in sound, which we really liked.
The band, based in South East London with Irish and Welsh roots, really knows what they want to say. The song calls out modern political figures and online influencers, especially the kind pushing toxic ideas to young men. The lyrics are direct, sometimes even harsh, but they stick in your head after one listen.
The music is strong too. The instrumentation is sharp and well put together, not messy like some punk can be. Guitars sound clean but still aggressive and the rhythm keeps everything moving fast. The production is actually smart with little ideas here and there that keep it from sounding flat. You can tell they put thought into it.
The vocal delivery is confident and strong. It matches the theme perfectly. And yeah, the melodies are memorable too which helps balance the heavier message. We also liked how the track doesn’t lose energy. It keeps going right to the end, no drop, no filler. Just solid all the way through.
This is a strong and meaningful release. Craic Killers are doing what punk should do, saying something real while still making it sound good. We enjoyed it and we think they’re onto something here.
