Conversation With Hannah Hughes

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

A: My first instrument was trumpet and I competed in my school’s marching band, and was in jazz band. I had a lot of musical training from an early age, and my grandfather always had jazz music on.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Hannah Hughes”?

A: I love creating real relationships with people. Meeting others, inviting them to live shows not only builds a real fan base, but also builds a more personal relationship with the person. I will continue to release music, perform live, and create conceptual music videos. I would say, get ready for a lot of new music and art!

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: I find inspiration from all sorts of things, right now I’ve been very inspired by my self growth. I am always continuously  inspired by Lady Gaga and her story

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Tonite.”?

A: “Tonite” is about the listener’s own experience. I want people to be inspired to feel free, let go of doubt and worries, and have fun after listening to my song.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Uplifting

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Tonite”?

A: I did not! It went very smoothly and was very fun to create the vision for “Tonite” into reality

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: I want to liberate people, I want people to feel understood when listening to my lyrics, I want to inspire people to become a better version of themselves. 

I will continue to grow as a musician and woman in the world, and always be in a state of inspiration. 

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: I’d love to do a collab with Jim Morrison 

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Do what you love, love what you do, take opinions with a grain of salt and focus on yourself and your vision.

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: “ It’ll happen, keep believing! “
