boxofradiation has released her new single “Fear”, and it’s a song that gives us so much to enjoy from the first listen. The melody is one of its strongest points and it stays in mind for days. There is a lot going on in the music, but everything works well together.
Her voice was the first thing that caught our attention. It has a catchy quality that makes the song easy to return to, while still giving the lyrics room to come through. The songwriting is another big part of why this track works. The lyrics are beautiful and easy to take in and they sit perfectly with the melody instead of getting lost behind the production which is good.
The instrumentation is well put together and the mixing gives each part enough space. Nothing sounds out of place, and the track has a good level of quality without losing its character. The atmosphere of this song is beautiful, we love it. Sometimes a song gets that right through the full combination of voice, sound and melody, and this is an example.
What makes the track work for us is that there is more than one reason to keep listening. The melody catches on, the production holds up, and her voice brings the song together. It is not just one good moment carrying the whole thing, the different parts keep giving us something to enjoy as it plays.
We really enjoyed spending time with her music, especially the vocals and the songwriting. boxofradiation is an artist we’d be happy to follow from here and this release gives us a good reason to keep an eye on what comes next.
