2ŁØT – Tread

2ŁØT just dropped a new single called “Tread”, and it’s one of those short tracks that somehow sticks longer than expected. It runs just around two minutes, but it’s not rushed. If anything, it loops in your head after it ends.

The sound leans fully into what this band does best. It’s electronic, yes, but not cold or robotic. There’s groove here. The beat rolls in a smooth way, and the jazz and soul touches give it a bit of class. The flute and trumpet parts slide in nicely, not loud, just enough to color the track and keep things interesting.

The production is creative and everything is clean and polished. There’s space in the mix which actually helps the track breathe. It’s the kind of track where small details matter more than big drops. It has that late-night driving vibe. Windows down, city lights, that kind of feeling. It doesn’t demand attention, but if you give it attention, it rewards you.

Compared to their other recent singles, “Tread” is more relaxed. Less dramatic, more about mood and flow. It shows another side of where they’re going with their next album. This is a strong and simple track that does exactly what it needs to do. It’s smooth and easy to get into. We just wish it was a bit longer, because once it clicks, it ends too soon.

ABOUT THE BAND:

2ŁØT was formed during times of immense change and uncertainty, when each member found themselves at a pivotal point in their lives. United by a shared purpose, the band takes its name from the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, intentionally crossing it out as a declaration to resist entropy.

2ŁØT aims to activate and inspire people through music and social advocacy. Their mission goes beyond entertainment, focusing on key causes like overcoming addiction, empowering youth to discover their gifts, and advocating for criminal justice reform.

The group consists of five members from diverse backgrounds, each bringing a unique blend of influences that range from hip hop, soul, funk, and jazz to rock. As avid fans of electronic music, they have fused these genres into their own sound, which they call Electronic Jam Music (EJM)—a genre that marries electronic elements with the improvisational spirit of classic jam bands.
