If you’re after something powerful and emotional, OCHISIA’s new single “Remains of Yesterday” delivers in every way. The Newcastle-based alt-rock/post-hardcore band brings high energy, sharp guitars and raw vocals that hit you fast and hard.
The track runs under three minutes but leaves a lasting impression. The verses are tense and heavy while the chorus opens up with a more melodic and reflective feel. The lyrics explore the highs and lows of drinking, showing both the struggles and the hope behind it. It’s honest and dark but still holds on to a sense of optimism.
The guitars are a big highlight here and the whole song has a gritty and emotional atmosphere, balanced by clean production mastered by Grant Berry. This band’s sound blends elements of post-hardcore and pop punk, taking influence from bands like Funeral For A Friend and The Used. But they’re also carving out their own path with music that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
We love this song and we think is a strong release that shows their talent and direction. It’s powerful, honest and well put together, a great sign of what’s to come on their upcoming EP.
