Q: Welcome back, Mari Clare! It’s fantastic to have you with us again. Since our last conversation, a lot has happened in your musical journey. To kick things off, could you share some highlights or pivotal moments that have shaped your artistic path since our last interview?
A: thanks so much for letting me come back! My style has slightly formed in a way. Since I released “in my head” that was my breakthrough thought of “yea that’s the style I love doing “ and that’s what we now want to do more of. A little sugar rush beat with catchy choruses!
I also had an amazing mentor during last year she is anabsolute amazing artist herself and she has helped to get me out of my comfort zone and show my music! Post everyday and just stand tall and do what I believe is good for my music ! Her name is Natalie Gray and you should check her out too!
I also have been doing a songwriting camp at the Glasshouse in Newcastle which has been very helpful and I met so many lovely people too.
Q: Can you describe the musical style of Mari Clare in three words?
A: sugar rush beats , honest, feminine
Q: How do you stay connected with your fans, and what role do they play in shaping your musical journey?
A: They play a huge part in my musical journey and they shape everything! Without fans even if it’s a small fanbase they are so important in early stages and even when you make it ! I try to include them in every release now ,like for this release I sent out free signed photos and I want to do more because day 1 fans deserve the best!
Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Obsession’. Is there a story behind it?
A: to be honest there might be , I mean everybody has a little obsession here and there and I might too!
Q: What is your favorite verse or part of the song and why?
A: The chorus! As it’s so catchy ,especially during the end it’s just guitars , drums and vocals absolute banger! If I may say so.
Q: Can you walk us through the creative process of producing the song, “Obsession”?
A: obsession was basically a lucky try in early 2025. Me and my brother weren’t sure if we would ever release it as we didn’t know where it was going but in a way the chorus is so catchy that we thought yes let’s do it ! And it’s a great start to a new era this year!
Q: What has been the most memorable concert or performance for you so far?
A: I haven’t had any performances yet but hopefully this year!
Q: Reflecting on your body of work, each song holding its unique significance, could you share a particular track that stands out to you personally? What makes that specific tune special, and why does it hold a place of pride in your musical journey?
A: For me “in my head”, is one song that I absolutely adore! It talks about anxiety and voices in your head , which I am sadly still going through sometimes so that song has helped me a lot during this time! And I have achieved so much with this song like top40 on future hits radio !
Q: Exploring the diverse creative processes within the music industry is always fascinating. Could you provide insight into Mari Clare’s unique approach to crafting music? From the initial spark of an idea to the finished song, how do you navigate the creative journey and bring its musical concepts to life?
A: Sometimes Melodie’s come into my head at very unusual times or even during the night ! In the studio, me and brother sometimes just craft things start with a guitar and than I have an idea and that just adds to it. The process can be long sometimes but sometimes it can also just click!
Q: As we wrap up our conversation, looking ahead, what aspirations or dreams do you have, and what message would you like to share with your fans as they continue to accompany you on this musical journey?
A: My dream is to perform! And release more music to show I really want to make it! I would like to share the message , that every fan is special to me and you will see much more of me this year and hopefully also on a stage! And thank you so much for the love & support so far!
