New Orleans born and bred singer-songwriter Jenn Howard’s aptly-titled sophomore release, Valiant Women, is a profile in courage. The 10-song album of Americana-soul boldly chronicles a phoenix rising story to self-possession and artistic autonomy. “This body of work showcases what it was like for me to be a woman searching to discover myself again after losing footing in my hopes and dreams,” Jenn says.
Jenn’s aesthetic draws from the second line swagger of her beloved hometown’s brass and funk band heritages, and the storytelling traditions of country and folk.
