Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: Growing up, I was immersed in music, particularly from my mother’s side, who introduced me to iconic artists like Queen, Kiss, The Cranberries, and Culture Club. These influences ignited my passion early on. At 17, I began playing drums and writing songs, which evolved my style from rock/metal to pop/hip-hop in a journey that remains at the core of my music today.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Xy Gala”?
A: To grow my fan base, I’m leveraging social media, live performances, and streaming platforms. To new fans: Welcome to the Xy Squad! My music is about authenticity, emotion, and connection. Dive in, and let’s create unforgettable moments together!
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: It’s tough to name just one influence. I draw inspiration from artists like Post Malone, Yelawolf, Avenged Sevenfold, and Falling in Reverse and many more, while maintaining my style. Creativity strikes me anywhere, whether I’m driving, working, or simply gazing at the sky.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Lifeless Life.”?
A: Lifeless Life captures the monotony and chaos of modern existence, juggling routines, masks, and unfulfilled dreams. It’s a reflection on feeling trapped yet finding humor in the madness, embracing the struggle, and questioning the meaning behind it all. The monotony of my 9-to-5 routine in a high-pressure corporate environment inspired this song.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Emotional.
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Lifeless Life”?
A: Lifeless Life’ marks my first self-produced single, requiring a shift in my creative process. Unlike my previous releases, which were recorded with the assistance of a university friend, this project allowed me to explore a more intimate and personal connection with my music. I’m proud of the outcome and the growth it represents.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: I often feel out of place in modern society, and my music becomes an outlet for my rebellious spirit. My goal is to create emotional connections with my fans and offer support to those who may be facing similar struggles through my art.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: Avenged Sevenfold has always been a major influence, but recently I’ve been inspired by Chinchilla’s unique style. I see similarities in our artistic approaches, though her vocals are truly exceptional. Chinchilla, let’s connect!
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: Follow your passion and commit to hard work. The journey for independent artists is challenging, often facing unfair competition against major labels. Stay resilient, stay strong, and be prepared to give it your all to succeed.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: Trust your unique voice, embrace failure as growth, and stay consistent. The journey is tough, but authenticity and hard work will set you apart. Don’t rush, build genuine connections and enjoy the process.
