Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: I think we all would have some sort of tie to our childhood on how we started to choose music. For me (David) it was my Father. He raised me on music and taught me to play.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Never Sunny”?
A: It is our dream to reach as many people as we can with this project. We have our first EP, “Never Sunny” out and have had the honor to get our songs played on some awesome Spotify Playlists, Podcasts, ect. BSBTV in the UK rated our single “Miss This Game” Song of the Year and we have had the pleasure of exposing our music to some awesome people in the Pop Punk world. We just hope to continue to push our music out as far as we can and hope that everyone gets a chance to hear it. Our message to anyone new to discovering our music is that we hope these songs resonate with you the way it does for us.
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: I dont think it’s possible to clump that into one artist! I can’t speak for the team here but I can imagine some answers would be bands like Neck Deep, The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck, Bilmuri, The Story So Far. The list can go on and on. Our inspiration comes from our equal desire to create something, a feeling that sticks to you and that can relate us to everyone else who shares the same feelings.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the new EP, “Never Sunny.”?
A: I think it was our coming back record. This was our first music as a band together. But we all came from former projects and all almost stopped chasing music all together. This EP which is heavily driven by nostalgia was our comeback record. To prove to ourselves and all the people that have always supported us along our paths that we still had something to create and pursue.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Im not good at this. Energetic.
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Never Sunny”?
A: We faced many! I think obstacles are just a part of the game anytime you’re recording. You have a set idea when you write the demo, But 7 times out of 10 the song doesn’t come out the way it went in. But that’s all a part of the fun.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: We all have things we cope with on a day to day basis. Our message is about Perseverance and never giving up. Our goals are to reach as many people as we possibly can with our music and make an impact on those who need it.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: Alive: Hayley Williams. Would be a dream. Paramore is incredible. Dead: Mac Miller. There would be something cool there.
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: Write as much as possible. Write until you can’t write anymore. Stockpile it. Make it a process that you never quit doing.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: Create more. Don’t quit when it gets tough or let people convince you of how impossible your dream is. Keep following the process and create more. The people always need more.
