Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: I’m a Uk based artist that honestly just has fun doing music. I don’t take life too seriously unless I’ve got a goal to work towards. Mantra in life is don’t panic be easy.
Growing up in Ghana my music has a lot of African influence. Used to listen to a lot of bashment and reggae growing up which has also had and impact on my musical direction
Q: Can you describe the musical style of Kweku Bandit in three words?
A: versatile, fun, motivational
Q: How do you stay connected with your fans, and what role do they play in shaping your musical journey?
A: I speak to a lot of my fans via social media when they reach in response to posts etc. They deffo keep the fire burning with all the love. It’s good to know that your music moves people and is enjoyed.
Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Nowhere’. Is there a story behind it?
A: Yea. I think most people can relate. Sometimes when you have a vision you see and believe that a lot of peers think won’t work they don’t support in the beginning. But when it works out they wanna come around like they always knew it would work. I feel this track embodies that scenario. Main message I was trying to convey is push your dreams because their yours and not everyone can see them the same way.
Q: Can you walk us through the creative process of producing the single, “Nowhere”?
A: I love Jazz so the beat definitely worked given the Jazz sample. It was up beat and when recording I was in a dint give a fuck kinda mood so was able to let out a lot of emotions and I was in flow so was completed in one night more or less
Q: What has been the most memorable concert or performance for Kweku Bandit so far?
A: I’ve only had a few smaller/intimate performances so far.The most memorable was st s uni rave in east London. Vibe was crazy !
Q: Reflecting on your body of work, each song holding its unique significance, could you share a particular track that stands out to you personally? What makes that specific tune special, and why does it hold a place of pride in your musical journey?
A: Liberty which is off my Ep bandit season vol 1 definitely special to me given it represents a big transition in my life for negative to positive. Also since then life has go then Sbd been handled better and better
Q: Exploring the diverse creative processes within the music industry is always fascinating. Could you provide insight into Kweku Bandit’s unique approach to crafting music? From the initial spark of an idea to the finished song, how do you navigate the creative journey and bring its musical concepts to life?
A: Movement has always been a creative spark for me. Whether I’m walking, jogging or in the gym ideas and melodies would just come to me then. So always voice record those ideas and then build on then later in the studio.
Q: As we wrap up our conversation, looking ahead, what aspirations or dreams do you have for Kweku Bandit, and what message would you like to share with your fans as they continue to accompany you on this musical journey?
A: The dream is to move and motivate people with my music internationally. Love all you fans to death the love they’ve been showing with nowhere is crazy ! I got so much music coming out this year so stay tuned
