Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: My childhood was somewhat discombobulated, a lot of moving around, it was kinda hard to make friends when I was younger because I was moving a lot as a kid + a lot of more persons stuff, so music was the a way to process and escape from a lot of “the real world”. There were, however, only certain songs that would allow me to process those songs, those being “Pop” records, they were the only ones that tended to help me process events and find closure, so from a young age, that was the genre that I felt a strong connection from day one. Fast forward to today, my main genre of music is Pop.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Kayn Falcon”?
A: I’m focused on building my fan base by connecting with people both online and in real life, through social media, live shows, pop-ups, and collaborations that let new listeners experience the music firsthand. My goal is to create moments that feel personal, whether that’s a viral TikTok snippet, a late-night playlist drop, or an intimate meet-and-greet.
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: Currently I am listening to a lot but as of recent, my most inspirational artist is “Marina, formally known as “Marina and the diamonds” I think her artistry has always spoke to me on a deeper level. From her lyrics to content, I think she’s brilliant. I find a lot of inspiration from real life experiences, also from the people around me and their stories. I like to write from a perspective that sends a message.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Automatic”?
A: This song is a critique of the automatic and unconscious way in which many people live today. I use ‘suburbia’ as a metaphor for environments that, while seemingly perfect and comfortable on the outside, actually hide an emotional disconnect and a loss of authenticity. With hypnotic rhythms and repetitive lyrics, I wanted to reflect that programmed routine that seduces, traps, and lulls, inviting people to question whether they’re living consciously or simply on autopilot.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Cinematic.
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Automatic”?
A: Yes haha, automatic had A LOT of different versions and mixes. I actually had 8 different choruses. I personally take time to make sure the song flows and does the job it’s intended to do. Besides choosing of verses and structure, the photoshoot and concept was a bit blurry at first, it took some time to get an idea as to how to portray it to a bigger audience.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: It’s all about escapism and honesty. I like music that creates a world that helps me process reality. My goal is to complete a series of worlds that discuss different topics and stories to help others process their human experience, as well as mine.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: I would love to collaborate with Max Martin, I know he’s a producer/songwriter but that man has written the soundtrack of my life. As for an outside performing artist, I have a lot haha, anywhere from Kylie Minogue, Jon Bellion or Marina (and the diamonds).
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: Be consistent, consistency wins over motivation but you also just HAVE to do it, write the songs, start singing in public, post the drafts, just do it. To add, the people closest to you (at least from my experience) will not always be supportive, so you have to really have trust in your dreams, in who you are and what you have to offer.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: Trust the process and trust your dreams because you have them for a reason, it’s never a coincidence. Also, a LOT of people will try to “discourage” you but it’s always a reflection of their insecurities. So Be you (I know it sounds corny) but be you and everything will fall into place.
