Q: Fonto, welcome back! How does it feel to revisit us again after our last chat?
A: It feels great, it’s very refreshing to update you guys on what has been going on for me in my career.
Q: Since our last interview, what’s been the biggest change in your life or career?
A: The biggest change in my career has been intensive uploading of new single projects and taking my time to create a couple new music videos for YouTube. Next, comes a marketing push!
Q: If you had to describe your creative energy in one word right now, what would it be and why?
A: My creative energy could be best described as manifesting for my current reality to be what I aspire it to be.
Q: How did the songwriting process for “Vicodin” differ from your previous singles?
A: The song “Vicodin” differs from all my other music because it is more personal, romantic, and emotional for the listener.
Q: Did the concept for “Vicodin” come to you suddenly, or did it take time to develop?
A: It took me about a week or two to fully develop the lyrics and theme behind the song.
Q: How did you decide on the production style for “Vicodin”?
A: I always choose my production first before even writing any lyrics to ensure I’ve found the best sounds. It’s an instinctual choice, usually.
Q: What message or feeling do you hope fans take away from your music?
A: I hope people will take away a piece of my experience and be able to apply it to their own relationships.
Q: What was the most challenging part of bringing “Vicodin” to life?
A: The most challenging part would be putting all the different pieces together such as the production, the lyrics, the tone of the song, all into one package that people can consume, hopefully regularly. I’m a bit of a perfectionist in the mixing process.
Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself as an artist in the last year?
A: I’ve learned that I love to work hard no matter what the job is and I will be determined to succeed no matter what.
Q: To wrap things up, what’s one word of advice you’d give to someone chasing their dreams, inspired by your journey?
A: A piece of advice I would give to other aspiring artists is to stay positive and strive for greatness no matter what stands in your way.
