Interview With 37AM

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

We’re four guys from different corners of Europe who randomly met in Brussels. We bonded over our love for music, and it clicked so naturally that we HAD TO create something together.

We all started playing when we were kids. Some of us had classical training, others just followed curiosity and noise. We basically grew up on the big ones — Queen, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd — and whatever was on MTV when it still mattered. That mix shaped who we are.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover 37AM?

We keep playing shows, releasing songs that feel true, and letting the rest happen naturally. Our audience keeps growing because people can feel that we mean what we do.

For anyone hearing us for the first time, expect something honest, loud, and alive. And if that doesn’t work, we’ve still got pyramid schemes and QR codes as backup.

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

We all listen to a lot of different things. Queens of the Stone Age, The Smiths, Erykah Badu, Messa.. It’s all in there somewhere. Inspiration comes from life itself, but nothing beats just sitting down with an instrument and seeing what comes out with no preconceived ideas.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Sale”?

Sale is our take on Belgian summer — hot, psychedelic, and a little unpredictable. It’s about that feeling of being happy and restless at the same time. We didn’t overthink it, we just bottled that mood and let it play out. Basically, if it’s hot, grab your shorts and go to the beach.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

Transportative. Like a trip you’re invited to join in.

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Sale”?

Not really. Sale came together faster than most of our songs. We usually spend a lot of time refining every detail and overthinking. This time, we didn’t. Guus Fluit, who produced it, helped us trust its simplicity and let it breathe.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

Each song has its own story, but it all comes from the same place. We play what feels good and what feels true, and we hope people can feel that too. In the end, it’s the music that makes it all worth doing. That’s the goal really, to keep growing while still making songs that make us feel alive.

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

Chris Cornell. Or Fiona Apple. Depends on the day.

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

Write songs. Play them live. Mean them. Everything else is decoration. The industry keeps changing, but the music always matters most. It’s better to have one real fan and songs you’re proud of than a crowd built on trends.

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

Don’t shrink yourself to make others comfortable. The right people will understand you. Don’t give up and keep playing, even when no one’s listening yet. And don’t worry, 2000 isn’t the apocalypse. Turns out that one comes later.
