Interview Heye Comfy

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

A: I am a music artist from Stamford, CT. My primary genre is Hip-Hop but I like to switch it up and dive into R&B every now and then. I had an older brother that was into music.  When I was in middle school, I used to sneak into his room and record myself. Hearing my own voice on a song is what got me interested in making music. I’ve been creating music ever since. Growing up, my older brothers were always listening to Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 cent, and Lil Wayne, so I would say hearing these different artists allowed me to find influence and create my sound.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Heye Comfy”?

A: I plan to grow my fan base by doing live performances and constantly promoting. I like to personally meet and interact with people and exchange social media information. It provides a sense of authenticity when I connect with potential supporters. The message that I have for anyone who is about to discover “Heye Comfy” is, be patient and have faith, I’m a good hearted person and I want to see everyone shine. Let’s shine together!”

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: The most inspiring artists for me right now are Don Trip and Kur. I like how their lyrics are gritty and to the point. They also have motivational lyrics to uplift their fans.   They keep it real and honest with their listeners no matter what and that’s dope! I find inspiration to make music, through my daily life experiences. Whenever I create a song, it’s basically like ripping a page from my personal journal. I just use the music as a way to vent.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Enemies.”?

A: Enemies was inspired by a traumatic relationship that I was in. It was a situation where I still had love for the person but I wasn’t sure if the love was mutual, and it just became too much of a hassle. I was losing myself while trying to keep them.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: I would describe my sound as “laidback hype”. If I’m not spitting laidback vocals on a hyped beat, I’m singing melodies on a smooth track but, with both sounds, I try to keep the lyrics intriguing. They may even be a bit raunchy or surprising, I just say what’s on my mind and use the music as a diary.

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Enemies”?

A: I didn’t face any challenges while writing “Enemies”. Since I was speaking from the heart, it just came natural to me. The funnest part was the recording, being that it’s such an emotional song, I was able to go into the booth and just vent/let it all out.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: The message in my music is to be your  self, love yourself, and to be extremely confident in whatever you do. Don’t let people get you down, and don’t listen to haters, haters don’t even love themselves. My goal as an artist is to build a loyal/devoted fan base. I don’t really care for the glitz and glamour, I just enjoy making music and happen to be somewhat good at it.

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: My dream artist to collaborate with would be Lil Wayne. In my opinion, he is the greatest rapper of all time so even a shoutout or to be recognized by him would be amazing.

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: The advice I have is to remain humble, don’t burn bridges, don’t lose yourself in the process, and don’t buy into a dream!

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: I would tell my younger self to stay focused. Don’t get distracted by all the temptation out there. Always put yourself first! Consistency is key! If you have a dream and really believe in something, Whatever just be consistent with it, if you’re putting in good work the results will show!
