ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Imber is Cecilia Nicolè, Venetian singer-songwriter whose sound blends ethereal melodies with more intricate electronic productions. Influenced by the likes of James Blake, Aurora and Tori Amos, Imber combines her curiosity for the unknown with her hometown origins resulting in songs that seem to come from a place far away. The project had its first start at the Premio delle Arti 2018 Festival in Milan and eventually moved to the UK, where Cecilia played at various venues around the Country and had the opportunity to open for Tomberlin, Vetiver and Aurora D’Amico. In 2020 she was selected to play at Liverpool Soundcity that, due to the Covid-19 emergency, was held online. One of the most peculiar experiences was perhaps to record a live session for IndieMood Sessions and Rockol on a moving boat in Venice. Being a solo project, live performances change depending on the situation and the context. From hybrid performances with both acoustic instruments and live electronics, to more intimate and ancestral ones accompanied by the sound of two viola da gambas, the narrative thread is the constant research of new sounds that are in contrast with the structure and lyrics of the songs.
