Harry Lines – Waiting for June

Wednesdays can be hell. But today I devised a hack to wake up our sleepy and fuzzy selves. Yes, “Waiting for June” by Harry Lines is just the jolt we needed. It’s not loud but it works. It’s a pretty stripped-back song that leans on emotion more than anything else.

The arrangement is simple. Maybe even a bit too simple at times. But it works because of how he delivers it. His voice carries a lot of weight here, especially in the quieter moments where nothing much is happening around it. It doesn’t feel forced either, just natural, like the song came out the way it needed to.

The guitar is probably the highlight. Soft, clean, and placed right where it should be in the mix. There’s a small solo in there that stands out. Not flashy, just well played and actually memorable. It adds something without changing the mood too much.

The production is solid and everything sounds polished but still a little loose around the edges, which fits the whole idea of keeping it real and raw. You can tell it came together quickly, but in a good way. The songwriting sticks with that theme of waiting and realizing things might not change. It doesn’t go too deep into it, but you get the feeling anyway.

We liked this one. It’s not trying to do anything big or loud and that’s probably why it works. Just a clean and honest song with a strong vocal and some really nice guitar moments.
