The New Citizen Kane, stage name of singer, songwriter, and producer Kane Luke, emerged from London in 2010 after his departure from Milan’s Fuorifase Records in 2008, having previously worked under his real name and the Discokane monicker also, with a vision to merge music, fashion, pop culture, and visual arts, Kane’s debut album in 2014 drew visual inspiration from the classic film “Citizen Kane” while sonically blending 80s and 90s house, dance, and synth pop sounds.. His work has been likened to that of George Michael, Depeche Mode, and Pet Shop Boys.
Kane’s entertainment career began at 17 on the Dublin theatre circuit, and by 18, he recorded his first EP “Now Or Never” in London. His multifaceted career included modeling, acting, and studying sound engineering, leading to a pivotal moment in 2006 when he signed with Fuorifase. His 2008 club hit “Don’t Feel No Shame” topped charts and earned DJ acclaim. After a successful stint in Italy and Spain with hits like “Spun Like Sugar,” Kane relocated to London, rebranding as The New Citizen Kane. His 2014 album “It’s Not Science… It’s A Feeling” and subsequent EPs, including “Invention” and collaborations like “The Chase” with DJ Diass, solidified his deserved place in the music scene. Known for vibrant live performances at festivals like Sonar and Secret Garden Party, Kane continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic artistry.
