Milk Bar Gang are back with their new EP “Shudder”, and it’s a pretty special one. Across four tracks, the duo dive into some heavy themes, life, culture, control, and even the darker sides of society. But instead of over-polishing everything, they’ve kept that raw edge that makes their music feel alive and real.
The opening track, “The Accident”, sets the tone right away. It’s emotional, layered, and feels like the start of a journey you don’t fully control. From there, the EP moves into “Beauty Life”, which looks at social expectations, and then “I Want Control”, a cheeky, weird, and special track with playful synths that still carries a serious undertone. Things close out with “Requiem”, a haunting reflection on the finite nature of life. Together, these songs connect as a loose story, but each one stands strong on its own.
What really works here is the mix of sounds. The production feels full but never too shiny, there’s grit, texture, and haunting vocals that fit the lyrics perfectly. You can hear the thought and creativity behind every synth layer and beat, but it still feels real and unfiltered.
We really enjoyed this EP. It’s bold and not afraid to step into uncomfortable spaces. Milk Bar Gang manages to make music that is both experimental and accessible, and that’s not easy to pull off. We think this new EP is one of those releases that sticks with you long after the last track fades out.
