From the volcanic landscapes of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands comes Lunar Dreams, a duo that produces electric music. Their most recent EP “Touched The Ground “ delivers an enchanting sonic journey. Comprising five tracks, this EP is a proof of the artists’ ability to make atmospheric tunes with polished sounds leaving an imprint which lasts forever.

This record starts from the moment it appears on your headphones with a unique ambient even different in each song. Through their keen attention to detail in production and mixing, every texture of its sound is loud and clear to the ear. One of my favorite things about this release is those well crafted instrumentals running through all tracks. This duo makes music that is not only celestial but also captivating inspired by wild surfaces resembling moon terrain at home island. It’s obvious that they were greatly influenced by their environment making it quite distinctive in respect to what other electronic acts have been producing lately.

The other thing that stands out from this EP is remarkable vocal performances. Ilona Dell’Olio takes charge of the vocals giving them powerful emotions and melodious sensation when she touches any note placed within her reach before fading away completely just as background noise keeps lingering long after music ends. Presence of both male and female singers in the EP adds weight to these songs thus asserting themselves with strong personalities.

Lunar Dreams however covers many aspects ranging from high tempo beats down to those very slow contemplative melodies. Its variety keeps the EP fresh and interesting as no one will be left behind by his taste preferences for music within this piece.

On my own level, “Dissolve” holds me hostage long after I’ve finished listening to it because it’s deep like that classic masterpiece haunting your soul forever-that song I can never forget until death comes upon me! With its unforgettable melody, slow beat and rich voice, this tune perfectly embodies the duo’s extraordinary abilities and original style. It’ll probably stick with you for a while, lingering on in your head as you yearn for more from Lunar Dreams.

The duo’s musical influences include the electronic luminaries like Four Tet and Bicep to vocal driven bands such as Massive Attack and Portishead. Their music has a mix of everything that is best from different genres, combining sounds everyone knows well with something new and unexpected.

Lunar Dreams really did their thing on “Touched The Ground” by showing us that they are gifted musicians who can create a fantasy world through sound. This EP will have fans begging for more after hearing its sharp production, memorable voice modulation and chilling background music.

ABOUT THE BAND:

Lunar Dreams is an electronic music project born in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. A fusion of art forms between Italian artist Ilona Dell’Olio and English musician/producer, Chris Blakey. The project embodies the place in which it was created, meaning the volcanic, rocky, almost moon-like landscapes of the Island heavily influenced the sound and aesthetic of the project, resulting in an ambient form of electronic music influenced by electronic artists such as Four Tet and Bicep, mixed with a more vocally led approach influenced by bands such as Massive Attack and Portishead.

Chris Blakey has previously collaborated with Death In Vegas, mixing an album and playing synths live with the group, he has also worked on studio projects with Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, co-producing a film score with them. Ilona Dell’Olio is an accomplished oil painter with works in galleries in Amsterdam and Frosinone, Italy, but here contributes the main vocals.
