Poking my head above the parapet to share a new EP we’re in love with at the moment…titled, “Unknown Memory,” by creative and talented artist FONTO. The 5-track project is an amazing experience from start to finish and we had it on repeat all morning today, it seems we can’t get enough of it. This is some of FONTO’s best work to date and we are super excited for you to hear it.
The energy is great and it’s one of the best projects we’ve heard in months. FONTO’s musical style is different, he has an amazing passion for his music and masters this art perfectly. The atmosphere of this project is unique and the production style is creative and brought this album to a whole new level. We listened to these tracks several times, and we still can’t find the right words to describe them. The vocal tunes are catchy and the lyrics are original, well-written and will get stuck in your head for a long time. You may find yourself singing them out loud by the next morning. FONTO has impressive musical skills and his vocal performance is outstanding. He has one of the best voices we’ve heard in months and this project shows off all the melodic tones of his stunning voice and shows how talented he is in writing songs. The instrumentals of these tracks are enjoyable and really some good stuff to listen to all day long.
We love what FONTO brought to the table today, and we’re super excited to hear what other projects have up his sleeve. But until that happens, we’ll just have to keep this outstanding EP on repeat. ABOUT THE ARTIST:
FONTO is a sound engineer, recording artist and producer who was born in the Bronx, NY, of Cuban/American descent. Since his early-teens, Fonto’s been posting, performing and producing his gritty, underground influenced and sometimes lo-fi tracks for a growing fan base worldwide.
Fonto has collected at least a million unique streams on songs ranging from his early collaborations with Diego Money (@1diegomoney) “Fuck up the Speakers,” to a song with K$upreme (@ksupremenas) “Bitch I Skate,” to a song with Candypaint (@candypaintoca) “Slide,” and a song which went viral with Warhol.ss (@freddywarhol) “Felony.”
His most recent viral song, “Trust Nobody,” was a collaboration with Sofaygo (@Sofaygo), before he signed with Travis Scott. This song alone has surpassed 300,000 steams on major platforms in 2021-2022.
FONTO explains, “Before Sofaygo signed and went on tour with Trippie Redd, I noticed him and felt we would be a good match, so I contacted him to collaborate and after working on a couple songs that were more in his niche and sound range. I ended up sending him a drill-influenced instrumental that challenged Sofaygo to step out of his usual comfort zone. Sofaygo himself said he really enjoyed performing on this particular instrumental produced by Yung Swisher and Luca Beats.”
FONTO has spent most of 2022 writing and producing a new collection of solo Alternative-ambient Trap songs with producers from around the country, releasing on major platforms soon. He is also producing a companion series of music videos releasing soon on YouTube/ Instagram.
FONTO’s style seamlessly blends his rap roots with the new sound he created based around singing and melody. As FONTO describes it, “I’m fabricating a new sound for myself and my audience, by fusing different genres and creating songs in specific genres such as Punk Rock, Hyper-Pop, and Psychedelic Hip-Hop. I want to create a unique niche with my sound.” His upcoming single releases include: “Float,” “RDA,” “GTA,” “20, 50, 100,” “Long Nights,” and “Back in Blood.”
