Ell Freeman’s new single, “It’s Ok” is a powerful and emotional pop-rock track that speaks directly to anyone who’s ever been heartbroken. The song feels raw and real, with lyrics that remind us it’s okay to cry and let go. It’s not just a sad song—it’s a healing one.
From the first few seconds, you can feel the energy and care put into the production. The instrumentation is rich, full of life, and supports the message without taking over. Ell’s voice is a standout, it’s rich, honest, and full of feeling. His delivery is heartfelt and passionate, and the vocal melodies really stick with you long after the song ends.
What makes this song special is how personal it feels. Written after the end of a long relationship, you can hear the emotion in every word. But even with the sadness, the song offers comfort and strength. It’s the kind of track that feels like a friend sitting with you during a hard time, telling you you’re not alone.
Ell Freeman is clearly a talented artist with a creative spark that sets him apart. His music doesn’t feel like anyone else’s, it’s thoughtful, melodic, and deeply touching. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what Ell puts out next.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Hi, I’m Ell Freeman
I’m a songwriter and new recording artist.
I’ve been composing music all my life, but it was not until my late 40’s that I started putting words to my music. I now have an extensive songbook, in a wide variety of genres including soul funk, bossa nova, indie pop and rock. I tell emotive stories, with frank and cutting honesty, of the frustrations of mid-life and rocky relationships, and the joy of new found love. I have developed a distinctive style and voice, using catchy melodies, unexpected chord-changes, and intense peaks and dips of emotion. Key influences include Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, The Police, and The Clash.
I mainly write rocky songs but also occasionally venture into other genres, e.g. folk, soul-funk, even bossa nova. Guitar is my main instrument but I also play bass and keys. I do most of my own recording and production using Logic, from my home studio. I also make my own music videos. I used to play and write for Stonyhills, but since its demise I’ve carried on alone.
I have done courses at ICMP, MOAM, TSA, and Scale, and have received personal mentoring from professional songwriters including Andrew Rollins (B.B. King, Chaka Khan, Billy Ray Cyrus, Dionne Warwick, Carole King), Charlie Grant (Melanie C, Simply Red, Michael Schulte), and Julian Hinton (Stormzy, Seal, Rod Stewart) as I honed my craft. I regularly perform around London, and delivered my first international solo concert recently in Maringá, Brazil.
I have now released a selection of my self-produced original rock songs in my first solo EP, entitled ‘A Hard Place’, available to download on Bandcamp, and streaming on all major platforms.
I am now offering low-cost pro audio editing, mix-engineering and production services for your demos. I’m also open to songwriting collaborations, and am looking for band members.
