Called “sinking, seeing, dreaming”, the second single by Eli Ann reflects a self-discovery and meditation through pointed words as well as compelling tunes. It is an emotional entrance where her powerful voice leaves a mark on the listeners.
Coming from Los Angeles, Eli has quite an eclectic background in music ranging from classical violin performance all the way to musical theatre; which she brings into her artistry so that it may be more than just surface level for those who listen closely enough or pay attention at all for that matter! And you can hear this diversity reflected within “sinking, seeing, dreaming” itself – with its intricate instrumentation complimented by thoughtful production.
This record touches upon our struggle living fast paced lives filled with anxiety- something many people could relate with. The lines are deep and personal as she speaks about slowing down finding yourself in chaos showing your soul to others.
One thing that separates it from other songs is how well produced everything seemed together behind the scenes also having Elizabeth Ann Chavez on songwriting, Vox, Acoustic Guitar and Violin. Vox producer Rachel St. Marseille and track producer Brett Kramer plus many others gave their input making sure every part shone bright like polished gems!
It’s simple message is what makes this song strong because we need moments like these where artists tell us stop breathe connect back inside ourselves again even if just for few seconds. Those lyrics encapsulate exactly what I’m talking about when thinking going deeper within my own consciousness such as: “Slowing down such a simple thing, Still don’t know what it means to me, I’m seeing”
With “sinking, seeing, dreaming” Eli Ann challenges individuals’ vulnerability which influences fears but ultimately finds peace in today’s existence. This masterpiece will undoubtedly resonate with fans due to its passionate delivery combined universal themes touching every person who listens keenly enough during their lifetime journey towards self-discovery.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Elizabeth Ann Chavez (“eli ann”) is a Los Angeles native whose artist roots are in classical violin performance and musical theater. When she moved from the San Fernando Valley to Long Beach for college, she began to branch out musically on violin—performing and recording with indie folk band Leather Tramp and their self-titled EP, along with singer-songwriter Gracie Gray’s Black Clothes EP (“Black Clothes” and “G I Wish U”). During this time, she also recorded strings for The Moderates “Where Are You (Acoustic)” and on select tracks for The Family Crest’s album The War: Act I.
A few years after college, Elizabeth formed the indie folk band Her Treehouse with bandmate Karen Laura Peters to explore an interest in simultaneous violin and vocal performance, a curiosity which led her to pick up the guitar and try her hand at songwriting. Years later, Elizabeth has finally let her voice take center stage. She teamed up with vocal producer Rachel St. Marseille and instrumental producer Brett Kramer (drummer for half•alive) and co-producer Marc Encabo, to record and release her debut single “Lighthouse.”
A serenely haunting ode to life’s cycles of grief and renewal, “Lighthouse” is inspired by unexpected loss, a bad car accident, the difficulty of navigating post-grad life, and not acknowledging the pain of it all until years later.
