David Lai is a Myanmar/Burma-based singer-songwriter who embarked on his musical journey in 2016 after winning a nationwide singing competition called Eain Met Sone Ya. His first album, Chit Nay Thaw Lel, was released in 2018 and introduced his distinctive sound that blends modern pop with traditional Burmese influences. Following the military coup in January 2021, David was forced to leave Myanmar and start anew. Despite facing overwhelming challenges, he found strength in his music, which continues to be a tool of self-expression, hope, and resistance. Love, Life and Blues is his second album and the culmination of years of passion, perseverance, and resilience.
