Q: Hey, can you tell us a bit about where you come from, and what made you want to start a career in music?
A: Our musical journey just started off with getting together and jamming just for the fun of it. As we progressed we were surprised to find that we started to receive a lot of ideas for original songs. The goal was just to finish and release those songs so as to get an idea of how they might be received by the public
Q: And what other artists have you found yourself listening to lately?
A: We have an eclectic taste in music. More recently I have been listening to the Temper Trap, Nathan has been listening to Middle Kids, Jimmy Hendrix, buddy guy, spacey Jane, and egoism to name a few.
Q: Who were your first and strongest musical influences, and why the name ‘Sweet Arrow’?
A: We get our inspiration from all genres of music: Rock, Funk, Blues, Hip Hop, Reggae, Latin, Dance, Electronic. We like the name Sweet Arrow because we believe that our music will resonate and speak with certain people and hopefully inspire them and hence they will be hit with a Sweet Arrow.
Q: You have just released your new album ‘Whatever it Takes’. Is there a story behind it?
A: We experienced many obstacles in the making of the album. So the album title was inspired by the idea that we would complete the album regardless of the challenges that life throws at us.
Q: Can we expect a new EP or even another album from you in the near future?
A: Yes, we have nearly completed all of our songs for our follow up album and we are aiming to release it in 2023.
Q: What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
A: The songs are based on true life experiences and so we hope that the listeners will be able to relate to the lyrics. I guess we believe that our sound is a mixture of rock and pop.
Q: Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it, or are you expecting something more?
A: We are very happy with the response we have received so far with our debut album. The goal is to continue to release music and to take our music on the road.
Q: Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song?
A: The way that we like to work is we start with the music first. So Nathan comes up with a chord progression and then I work on the lyrics. Once the lyrics and chords are solidified, Nathan will typically add a base line and lead guitar and I will add the vocals, drums and percussion.
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: It’s the external pressures and problems that can get in the way of creating the artwork.
Q: On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
A: Finishing this album has been a massive accomplishment for the both of us. We had no recording or production experience and there was only two of us recording all the elements of a full band. We are really proud of what we have achieved and looking forward to releasing more music in the future.
