Conversation With CosperTheNomad

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

A: Yes! Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Everyone in my family sings or plays an instrument, and I have a big family so there was always a lot of music growing up. Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Biggie, JayZ, John Mayer… I could go on and on!

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “CosperTheNomad”?

A: Lots and lots of music. I have so many songs in the vault and I make songs all the time. 2024 is about sharing my music with the world via social media… so there will be lots of content coming out this year.

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: Ah, this is tough because there are so many good artists out there right now, but I really like Jordan Ward, Bas, Jay Safari, TylerTheCreator, Lawrence. Those are just some of the great artists that come to mind right now. As far as inspiration, I find it everywhere… in conversations, tv shows, museums, books and other music I listen to.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the track, “Airports (Remix).”?

A: Airports Remix wasn’t a planned release, it was really just how I was feeling at the time and it ended up being one of my personal favorites from last year, so I decided to release it right before Christmas. I was in the airport (where I spend more time than any human should, haha) and I thought about that movie with Tom Hanks, Terminal. And I was like… that’s basically me… but like, the romantic version. haha.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Smooth.

Q: Did you face any challenges while producing or recording “Airports (Remix)”?

A: I didn’t really face any challenges making Airports Remix, which is rare. The toughest thing was probably nailing the spatial audio mix because I didn’t have the right earphones to listen to it on! haha, besides that, it was one of those rare songs where the stars align.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: I really believe that love solves a lot of our problems as humans. Self love, love for each other, romantic love… so, my goal is to stay in that frequency. If I do that, I think everything will align. I’m ambitious about my art but I’m also totally at peace with whatever the outcome is.

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: COLDPLAY! Please call them for me. haha

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Follow your own compass with the music and work hard. “Making it” usually takes longer and is more work than anyone expects, so, work hard!

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: Be consistent and reduce ego. When I first started in the music industry I thought my talent would carry me, and to be honest, it did for a while, but talent won’t take you the whole way. So much of the business is relationships and hard work. So I would say to my younger self, stay consistent when it’s challenging to do so and never operate in ego or fear!
