Q: Hey, can you tell us a bit about where you come from, and what made you want to start a career in music?
A: I grew up in a small animal farm in Norway, but live in Oslo now. I have always played instruments, and music has always been my biggest hobby, joined some bands from time to time. I have dreamed about a music career, but I never did throw myself into it. Now I have the opportunity to write, play and create, therefore I want to give it a try.
Q: And what other artists have you found yourself listening to lately?
A: Many, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Julia Roberts, Rihanna, Highasakite
Q: Who were your first and strongest musical influences?
A: Mannfred Manns Earth Band, Beatles, Supertramp, Genesis, Van Morrison, BeeGees.
Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Bird’. Is there a story behind it?
A: I was young, I wrote it 28 years ago. I played the piano, and found this verse. Story came rather easy, I had 3 living grandparents in those days, I probably had symphaty with older people, being forgotten. The elder gave me a lot of attention when I was young, perhaps I wanted to give something back.
Q: Can we expect a new EP or even an album from you in the near future?
A: Hopefully before summer I will have 4-5 songs ready.
Q: What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
A: Difficult to answer, I put my feelings into it, and do not calculate what others should feel, but I like melodic, combined with some rythm. Even if it’s nostalgic, hopefully it also can bring good feelings and hope.
Q: Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it, or are you expecting something more?
A: Music has always given me a lot of value, even if not commercial.
Q: Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song?
A: Sitting alone in my studio, playing piano/keys, with or without mic, improvising, trying to find good vibes/ chords/lines.
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: So far only good memories and things. Just now? Trying to figure out if Bird is good enough for a market somewhere.
Q: On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
A: Releasing this song (that never got out of my head, while trying to write other songs.)
