A new gothic. Fronted by a powerhouse vocals of Shimmer Johnson. Circle the Wolves combines metal with an orchestral and piano style, heavy on wavetable synthesis to complete a total sonic experience. With virtuoso leads, and complicated chord structures found in most classical music, overlaid by unique vocals and harmonies, the listener isn’t even aware of the complexity of the music supporting the female led band. Coupled with a unique stage show, Circle the wolves is truly a diamond in the gothic metal scene. Steven Johnson is no stranger to the Alberta music scene. A gifted player and instructor, he’s been active doing live shows and festivals most of his life both as a player, and technician. That’s how he met Corey and when Steven had the opportunity to visit the Catalyst studio, the song Existence was born. They wrote every week for several months to complete the first Circle the Wolves album and now working on the second album with the addition of bassist Ben Mulholland and drummer Keith Runco, (who has cut on several albums for Catalyst Records) New album 2000 pieces set to release spring of 2023 stay tuned !!
