Bowman – Maple

Bowman’s new single, “Maple,” is a captivating ghost story that seamlessly blends reality with imagination. Inspired by his childhood experiences in his late grandmother’s house on Maple Street in Lexington, TN, the song delves into the conflicting memories associated with the place. While the house served as a gathering spot for joyful family moments, it also harbored a sense of terror due to the presence of a spirit known as “the boy,” a phenomenon witnessed by many in Bowman’s family.

In honor of his grandmother’s love for storytelling and music, Bowman collaborated with fellow artists Shari Rowe and Zoe Jean Fowler to co-write “Maple.” The song narrates the tale of a young boy who confronts his fears and disbelief, beginning with encounters with the enigmatic “shadow we do not speak of” and culminating in the powerful call to “Burn It Down.” At its core, “Maple” explores the lengths we are willing to go to protect our loved ones from the ghosts that haunt our lives.

Drawing inspiration from their passion for western folk music and old ballads, Bowman and his collaborators infused the song with a unique twist on a traditional concept. With the guidance of producer Matt Odmark at Gray Matters Studio in Nashville, they assembled a talented group of musicians to bring the haunting tale to life. The result is a beautifully crafted composition that reflects their artistic vision.

Bowman and his team are immensely proud of how “Maple” came together and are excited to share it with their audience. This single marks the first installment in a series of five songs, each exploring different houses from Bowman’s formative years. The next release, titled “Sunset,” is set to be unveiled later this summer, promising further captivating narratives and musical artistry.

In summary, “Maple” is a mesmerizing ghost story that draws on Bowman’s personal memories and creative imagination. With its blend of reality and fiction, the song showcases the lengths we go to protect our loved ones from the ghosts of our past. By infusing western folk influences and collaborating with talented musicians, Bowman and his team have crafted a haunting and compelling musical experience. As listeners embark on this musical journey, they can anticipate further enchanting tales in the upcoming releases from this series.
