Big Scrimps’ debut EP “Facing East: The Holy Processions” is one of those projects that instantly grabs your attention not because it tries too hard, but because it doesn’t try at all. It’s raw and full of personality. What started as a casual Friendsgiving idea between three friends, The Honorable Brother Muscles, Big Man Z and producer goodie goodman ended up becoming a wild, creative and surprisingly moving hip-hop experiment.
The EP feels like a collage of humor, chaos, and deep musical chemistry. You can really tell it was made in the spirit of having fun and doing something cool just for the sake of it. Each track has its own world, but they all tie together with rich instrumentals, great bars and moments that make you smile without even realizing it. The production is super clean and the beats hit hard without losing that old-school touch. There’s a warmth to the vocals that feels natural and not overproduced, which gives the whole thing an authentic edge.
What’s great is how this EP manages to stay unpredictable. One minute you’re laughing at a wild ad-lib, the next you’re vibing to a smooth groove or sharp wordplay. It’s creative without being pretentious and chaotic in the best way possible. We really love the old-school spirit behind this project. The production and mixing are perfect and the variety keeps you locked in from start to finish. You can feel the passion, the friendship and the love for music all the way through. This EP isn’t just entertaining, it’s inspiring.
