Alex Haines – The Instrumental Sessions

Alex Haines has delivered something powerful and refreshing with her new album, “The Instrumental Sessions”. This 14-track project is filled with energy, skill and emotion, proving that words aren’t always necessary to tell a story.

The album will grab you with its mix of heavy guitar riffs, dynamic drumming and layers of melodies that feel raw. Tracks like “Look Up”, “Why You”, and “Tightrope Dancer” stand out with their unique sounds and creative use of effects, pulling you into an atmosphere that feels larger than life. Even without lyrics, each track feels personal and expressive, almost like a conversation told entirely through sound.

What makes this album special is not just the strength of the music but the dedication behind it. She recorded and produced everything herself, building full arrangements and crafting each detail with care. It’s impressive how much depth and emotion she’s able to capture using only instruments, showing her talent not only as a guitarist but also as a producer and arranger.

This is more than just a metal album, it’s an emotional journey that highlights the beauty of instrumental music. It’s powerful and full of surprises. It’s the kind of album that makes you appreciate the art of music itself and we think fans of metal and beyond will find something to love here.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Alex Haines is a melodic metal singer and musician based in New York City. She writes songs about grappling with and overcoming adversity. Her influences include Kittie, In This Moment, Mushroomhead, System of a Down, Stone Sour, Evanescence, Cold, and Disturbed.

She has been singing since before she could talk, and playing guitar and piano since she was a child. After forming a few bands and realizing it wasn’t her style, she decided to self-produce and embark on a career as a solo artist. Her music has now grown in complexity, with the addition of MIDI percussion, bass guitar, and orchestral simulations, which she showcases in her 2021 release “The Instrumental Sessions.” This record features the instrumental versions of some songs that will be on her future albums. Her next EP, “The Rain on Your Parade,” is tentatively scheduled to drop in the fall of 2025.

Her band Shattered Serenade is on hiatus, but their music is available for streaming and purchase.
