Album: Harper n Hubble – Reel to Reel

Ladies and gentlemen, yes! Harper n Hubble are back and this time they’ve outdone themselves with their new album “Reel to Reel”. It’s the kind of record that reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place. It’s emotional, honest, and crafted with great passion. This duo, made up of Paul Harper and Andy Hubble are long-time friends and teachers who turned their shared love for music into something truly special. You can feel that friendship and chemistry flowing through every note of this album.

The opening track “Just Another Day” sets the tone beautifully. It’s emotional and pulls you right into their world with heartfelt vocals, stunning guitar work and perfectly layered drums. It’s one of those songs that feels alive and polished but still full of soul. Then comes “Losing My Head” a deeply personal piece that showcases the duo’s softer side. The acoustic guitar feels intimate and the vocal delivery is raw and honest, almost like they’re letting you read a page from their life.

As the album continues, “Re Invented” brings a gentle and uplifting energy, with captivating melodies and lyrics that make you pause for a moment. “Time on Our Hands” and “Field of Dreams” are two of the standout tracks when it comes to songwriting. They both have a calm sound with soft melodies and smooth instrumentation that show how well these two understand balance, nothing ever feels overdone.

One of our favorites has to be “Don’t Let’s Leave Things This Way”. It’s a beautiful moment on the album, with nice variety in tone and emotional delivery that hits just right. “People Like Us” also shines, blending great lyrics with a mix that lets every element, from the vocals to the guitar lines everything breathe and complement each other perfectly.

By the time you reach the final track, “Dagmar on Film” it feels like the perfect ending. It’s soothing, haunting and beautifully touching. The drum work is tight, the production is great and the mixing brings everything together perfectly. It’s one of those closers that makes you want to sit in silence for a minute and just take it in.

We truly enjoyed every second of this new album. The vocals, the instrumentation, the production, everything feels right. Harper n Hubble have created an album that’s not just well-made, but deeply felt. It’s he kind of album you’ll want to keep coming back to!
