Q: Hey, can you tell us a bit about where you come from, and what made you want to start a career in music?
A: We’re from American Fork Utah! We all met in high school after discovering each other’s love for music. We want to be homeless so we figured this was the fastest way there.
Q: And what other artists have you found yourself listening to lately?
A: We’ve been listening to a lot of awesome Utah bands lately, such as: Hollow Hill, Homestyle Dinner Rolls, Acacia Ridge and many others!
Q: Who were your first and strongest musical influences?
A: We all have very different influences that got us into music, including the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Smashing Pumpkins, Eric Clapton, and The Doobie Brothers. Our biggest and strongest influence as a band would probably be Collective Soul.
Q: You have just released your new album, ‘Health Care’. Is there a story behind it?
A: When we first became a band we immediately started writing songs, and honestly couldn’t stop from there. This album is a collection of not only the first songs we ever wrote together, but our first experiences as a band, laced into songs.
Q: Can we expect a new EP or even another album from you in the near future?
A: Since we first became a band, we’ve been writing songs constantly. We have so many songs we’re dying to get out to the world right now, it’s just a matter of how and when. We’ve got a lot of exciting projects in the cannon.
Q: What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
A: Our music has no rules. We love incorporating spontaneous additions such as organ solos, crazy breakdowns, and unlikely dynamics. We hope our listeners experience the same excitement that we do creating the music, as they do listening.
Q: Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it, or are you expecting something more?
A: As we created our debut, we had a rough vision in our minds of how it should turn out. We feel that we exceeded that vision, however our expectations are constantly moving above our heads. We can confidently say that for our upcoming projects, we have significantly higher expectations from ourselves as well as what we want our music to reflect.
Q: Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song?
A: We kind of just sit down and see what we come up with. Almost like a brain dump. We have a lot of natural chemistry as a band, so we tend to rely on having an initial idea to start, and then running wild with it and seeing where we end up. We try bouncing our creativity off of each other as much as possible.
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: Financial struggles and sacrifice has been something tough we’ve had to overcome. In terms of sacrifice, we are now soaring head first into the industry with no higher priorities. However, like most artists, finance is a tricky beast to stay on top of off.
Q: On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
A: The overwhelming support that we’ve received from the release of our album blew us away. The fact people enjoy listening to our music makes us extremely happy, something we didn’t think we’d achieve so early in our career. We’re so extremely grateful for our amazing fans and hardworking individuals in the local scene, we owe everything to them.
