Mark Winters is a Texas-based rock singer/songwriter who just released his latest single “Boundary Layer (Radio Remix)” which is off his 2022 album with the very same name Boundary Layer.
What makes Winters so unique is that he isn’t just a musical artist. He has a degree in aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineering, and his math and science background only goes on to enhance his musical explorations.
When I hit play on “Boundary Layer (Radio Remix),” the way Winters spews out the lyrics in a fast-paced execution reminded me a lot of the San Diegan artist Jason Mraz. And no wonder too, since Winters says in his bio that Jason Mraz is one of his major influences. Others include John Mayer and Tom Petty and I can definitely see these other artists in his sound.
The blazing guitars were absolutely electric on this track and I was overall loving the energy.
If you’re looking for something with great vibes that’s a fun listen, then look no further. Give Mark Winters’s “Boundary Layer (Radio Remix)” a try today!
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
I first picked up a guitar to play a song for my wife on our anniversary. That’s when I discovered the joy of connecting with people through music. My sound is rock with a positive vibe, and my biggest influences are John Mayer, Tom Petty, and Jason Mraz. My music starts from a place of poetry and creative inspiration, and I use my “rocket-scientist brain” to find structures that help me explore that initial burst of inspiration and feeling – like writing haikus, my favorite! My grandmother taught me to express myself through poetry and I’m thankful to her for setting me on this creative and expressive path.
I am a self proclaimed “math nerd” and I cultivated my “rocket scientist brain” by getting a degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering, which heavily influences the way I write music. I like taking complex things, like emotions, and expressing them in a way that’s easy to understand. Balancing my right-brained creativity with my analytical left-brain is part of my life-long journey; music is one more place where I can explore this balance.
