Conversation with Sweet Arrow

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?

A: I always loved music as a child. I was a big BonJovi fan and I loved the song Living on a prayer.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Sweet Arrow”?

A: The aim is to keep releasing music. We have another three completed tracks that we are planning to release in the near future. When releasing music we also use the services of  Playlist Push. That has helped to get some of our tracks on Spotify playlists.  The message for listeners about to discover our music is thank you for giving us your time. We believe that certain tracks are for certain people. Perhaps this one is for you? If not this one, maybe the next?

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: For me the most inspiring artist is the composer for Sweet Arrow, Nathan Tamburro. His chord progressions are the catalyst to all the lyrics I write. The inspiration for me comes from his music.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “My Love Is Growing.”?

A: The song was birthed out of a jam. Nathan came to a jam and started playing with some chord progressions. Immediately the sound hooked me in, and I knew that I had to write lyrics to the music. Basically, the premise of the song is that a period of prolonged difficulty has come to an end and good times have replaced the darkness.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Positive

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “My Love Is Growing”?

A:  This track unlike others that we have completed, was relatively quick and seem-less without delay, frustration or complication.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: The message of this track is that even a prolonged storm does not last forever. The lessons learned from the struggle will propel you to new heights. My goal as an artist is to be real. To write lyrics that listeners can relate to with the hope of uplifting the mood of listeners and bringing inspiration

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: Bob Marley

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Bring your ideas to completion. Finish your tracks and at the very least get them to the demo stage. Ask yourself a question. Are you a solo artist or a collaborator. If you are a collaborator, seek like-minded partners. Enjoy the journey, step by step.

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: Have a daily practice routine. You are going to evolve as an artist. The only way to improve is to finish. You’re not competing with anyone else but yourself. Many people don’t see who you can become, they only see what you show them. People’s opinions of you can be biased. Art is play!
