Marlee – One Day (You’ll Wish)

Marlee King, the independent artist from the Isle of Wight, has released her latest single, “One Day (You’ll Wish),” and it’s a track that packs a punch. With glam guitar riffs weaved through some feisty synth lines, Marlee describes it as “a song to inspire revenge,” intending to give her listeners a boost.

Written, produced, and performed by Marlee King, “One Day (You’ll Wish)” is a bold and confident offering from an artist who is making waves in the UK’s music scene. Co-produced and mixed by Barnaby Cox, the track showcases Marlee’s unique blend of rock and pop sensibilities, with her signature drag makeup adding an extra layer of theatricality to the proceedings. The track is an anthem for anyone who has ever felt stuck or stagnant in their career or personal life. It’s a song about taking control and making a change, with lyrics that are relatable and empowering. The track’s guitar riffs and synth lines add a sense of urgency and energy, making it impossible to sit still while listening.

Speaking about the track, Marlee says that it’s essentially about her music career and how stagnant she was feeling coming out of the covid pandemic. The verses and chorus are written about two separate people she encountered, demonstrating the power of songwriting to take several moments or interactions and combine them to create an entirely new narrative.

“I wanted people to be able to relate to it in some way, so gave it this sort of double-entendre that it could be seen as the sort of song to inspire someone after a rough patch in a relationship or even a break-up,” Marlee explains.

Overall, “One Day (You’ll Wish)” is an impressive offering from an artist who is unafraid to take risks and push boundaries. With its bold guitar riffs, feisty synth lines, and empowering lyrics, it’s a song that is sure to inspire anyone who listens. If you’re a fan of rock and pop music that is unapologetically bold and confident, then “One Day (You’ll Wish)” is a track that you won’t want to miss.
