Q: Can you tell us a bit about the band and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: Most definitely, my childhood has a big impact on my music and especially on this upcoming record. There is a huge part of the new record that is related to a lot of stories from my youth.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover the band Mobile?
A: Well I strongly think that we always had a great bond musically and had a deep friendship and we obviously had been through a lot. We always have been able to gather new fans because our music speaks the truth and we have an undeniable power when we play live. The world has changed a lot since we started this band and I think we been able get our message across and always will be by being who we are meaning powerful and true
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: My favorite songwriter is a man called Greg Dulli, he’s from a band called The Afghan Whigs, but there is a lot of great music out there and I been influenced by a lot of stuff. I find inspiration in a lot of things, I read a lot, listen to shows on the tv and pick up conversations here and there, there is always something interesting somewhere out there.
Q: You just released your new album, “Roadmap To Redemption”. What inspired the writing and recording processes for this album?
A: The writing was inspired by me growing up and the city I lived in as a kid. For some reason a lot of the music Criq was composing brought me back to those days and how I felt about life back then. So naturally, I started writing about that and also how I got where I am today and I tried to express those feelings through the songs. The overall message on this album is: it might take a long time but it’s possible to be happy, it might be a long and winding road but there is hope at the end of the tunnel.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Real!
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: There has been a lot of difficult situations that we had to endure, the music business is not and easy path to follow, it can be full of ups and downs and sometimes no matter how good you are or whatever you do, there is no guarantee that you’re gonna succeed and it can be really difficult, it’s hard to have and then have not.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as a band?
A: The message we wanna get across in our music is that there is always hope, no matter what happens in your life and you definitely feel like nothing works and you’re tired of it all, there will always be a shining light, the light that never goes out.

A: Greg Dulli
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: I wish them good luck and I obviously warn them about the pros and cons, but I don’t discourage anybody who wants to pursue a musical career because I was told many times in the past that I should not do it and I always resented that.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: Be happier and appreciate the moment and don’t look too far ahead, whatever will be, will be.
